Audit log
See who changed greed's settings in your server, where they did it, and undo it.
Overview
Discord's own audit log does not show changes made through greed. A sticky message, an autoresponder, a filter turned off or a fake permission granted are all greed settings, so they never appear there.
greed keeps its own audit log for that. Every change to greed's settings in your server is recorded with:
- who made it, or greed when greed removed something on its own because the channel or role it pointed at was deleted;
- where it was made: the channel the command or button was used in, the dashboard, or the dashboard assistant;
- what changed, setting by setting, with the value before and after;
- whether the member was only allowed to do it because of a fake permission, and which role gave it to them;
- Discord actions greed took for the command, such as bans, kicks, role changes and deleted messages.
Members cannot edit or delete audit log entries.
Who can see it
Viewing and undoing need the real Manage Server permission (or Administrator, or being the server owner). Fake permissions do not count, because the audit log exists to show what fake permissions were used for.
Viewing the audit log
Open Security → Audit log on the dashboard, or use the command in your server.
,settings auditlog [member] [feature]
/settings auditlog view works the same way, and ,greedlog is a shortcut. Pick an entry from the menu to see every change in it.
In Discord you can filter by member and by feature, and show only changes made with fake permissions. The dashboard can also filter by where the change was made.
Undoing a change
Open an entry and press Undo. greed puts the settings back exactly as they were before.
- If someone has changed the same setting again since, nothing is undone, so their newer change is kept.
- An undo is recorded too, so you can undo the undo.
- To undo a change you need the same access the original change needed, and fake permissions never count:
- Server owner: fake permissions, antinuke admins, extra owners and the bot's appearance.
- Server owner or an antinuke admin with Manage Server: antinuke settings, guardian, webhook firewall and moderation approvals.
- Administrator: disabled commands, command restrictions, denied permissions, roleplay commands, the ticket blacklist, jail and mute setup, and auto profile pictures.
- Manage Server: everything else.
- greed will not put back a role that is at or above your highest role, or hand out a role with dangerous permissions automatically.
- Discord actions such as bans, kicks and role changes are shown but are not undone from here.
- Changes from a backup restore are recorded as one bulk entry and cannot be undone here. Restore another backup instead.
- Deleting a log channel, a welcome or leave message, a tracking or auto profile picture channel, server guardian settings or the verification gate cannot be undone, because greed does not keep their webhook tokens, rescue key or verification answer. Set them up again instead.
Undoing everything one member did
If a member misused their access, you can undo every greed change they made in a time window in one step.
,settings auditlog revert (member) [hours]
greed shows how many entries will be undone before anything happens. On the dashboard, open any entry by that member and press Undo everything by this member.
Live log channel
Add the greed settings event type to a log channel and every change is posted there as it happens, with an Undo button.
,logs add #greed-logs greed
If someone removes the log channel for greed settings, that change is still posted to the channel it was removed from.
Owner alerts
When someone other than the server owner changes antinuke, antiraid, fake permissions, filters, logging or command access with greed, the owner gets a DM. This is on by default and is sent at most once every 10 minutes.
Only the server owner can turn it off.
